INSTRUCTIVE EVENING

Nursing Division of St. John The fortnightly meeting' of the Wellington Nursing Division of the St. John Ambulance Association was held in the rooms, Courtenay Place, on Monday, and was well attended.

As the meeting was in charge of the distri't nurses of St. John’s Guild, Nurses Collins, Bettany and Shepherd, an invitation had been sent to all members of the various divisions to be present, and a fair number accepted. The evening was a most instructive one, as the nurses had arranged for the attendance of some of their patients and those present were shown the actual dressings applied. They then demonstrated bedside attention to a helpless patient. Questions were asked and answered, and the meeting closed with hearty votes of thanks to the nurses.

A cadet division has been recently formed, and Mrs. Baker has been appointed cadet superintendent. The division is responsible for attendance at the following football grounds: Basin Reserve, Kelburn Park and Anderson Park.

Nurse Beyers, of Milton Sales, Ltd., London, arrived in Wellington yesterday by the R.M.S. Maunganui. Miss Beyers is a New Zealand-trained nurse, who has been in England for some time past. Mr. and Mrs. McNicoll, Wellington, who have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. Yule, Featherston, have returned home. Mr. and Mrs. James Allan, Lansdowne, Masterton, will leave to-day on a visit to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Johnston, Turakina, are the guests of Mrs. Alex. Stewart, Essex Street, Masterton.
