TO AID FREE AMBULANCE

Successful Bridge Party With the object of raising funds toward the furnishing of part of the Free Ambulance building, to be erected shortly, the ladies’ auxiliary of the Wellington Free Ambulance held a bridge party at Kirkcaldie and Stains, Ltd., yesterday afternoon. The Jacobean room was attractively arranged to accommodate the large number of players, twenty-five tables being used. Mrs. John Aston, vice-president, apologised for the absence of Mrs; C. J. B. Norwood, through illness. A delicious afternoon tea was served, and a very pleasant afternoon was spent by all who attended. The prizes were tvon by Miss M. Tingey and Mrs. Bonsor. The committee responsible for the success of the party was Mrs. A. Gibbons, Mrs. E. P. Norman, Mrs. McGowan, Mrs. Gledhill, Mrs. Bateson, Mrs. Carter, Mrs. Dixon, Mrs! J. I. Goldsmith, Mrs. 11. M. Jones, Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. A. A. Moore, Mrs. J. Munt, Mrs. C. Mack, Mrs. MeVicar, Mrs. F. Roffe, Mrs. Searle, Mrs. Sanderson, Mrs. B. Sutherland, Mrs. T. Watkins, Mrs. Stone, and Mrs. Mander. Guests staying at the Hermitage, Mount Cook, during the past week included: — Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Lench, Mr. A. Goldthorpe. Mr. G. C. A. Jones, Mr. E. Fea (London), Mr. W. R. H.
