“Disgrace to New Zealand”

“Our cemeteries in nine out of ten cases are a disgrace to New Zealand,” said Dlr. D. Tauuock, superintendent of parks and reserves at Dunedin, at yesterday’s conference of park superintendents. Mr. Tannock argued that much too little attention was given to city cemeteries, which could with a little forethought as to lay-out and planting be made beauty spots of great aesthetic value. The subject was discussed by delegates, and all agreed that given the encouragement 'and the money there was no reason why cemeteries should not be beautified to a much greater degree than at preseilt.
