OVERCAST SKIES
The Weather Yesterday Yesterday was warm and overcast at Wellington, and there was a light northerly. There was cloud on the hilltops at times. The weather at Auckland was again fine but dull, and the wind was light from the north-east. The barometer fell steadily during the_day, the reading this evening being 29.85 in. At Christchurch it was dull, but mild, with light rain in the morning, the fall being eight points, which brings the total for the month up to 25 points, compared with 4.23 inches for the same period twelve months ago. The wiud was from the north-cast, and the maximum temperature was 65 degrees. The barometer continued to fall, the reading last evening being 29.45 in. At Dunedin it was very unsettled. The sky was dull and overcast in the morning, and a light wind blew from the north-east. Rain commenced to fall after mid-day, and was continuing at 6 p m In the afternoon the wind veered to the south-west. The maximum temperature was 64 degrees. The barometer fell quickly during the day, and at 6 p.m. stood at 29.55 in,
