The results of the annual junior tennis tournament -conducted by the Wanganui Lawn Tennis Association on the Wanganui East courts are as follow:— Boys’ , Singles (under 18).—-Semi-finals; Bassett beat F. Perry, 9—5; Milne beat Jackson, -9MV Final: Milne (Westmere) beat Bassett (Tech.), 7 —4. Boys’ singles (under 15) —Semi-finals: Wood beat Robson, 7—5; Guin beat Horsley, 7—2. , Final: Guin beat Wood, 7—5. ' ■... Girls’ singles (under 18)—-Semi-finals: Miss C. Nicolls beat Miss J. Nichollson, 9—6; Miss I. Duncan beat Miss A. Rogers, 7—6. Final: Miss Duncan (Girls’ College) beat Miss Nicholls, 7—ol Girls’ singles (under 14)—Semi-finals: Miss M. Purcell beat Miss S. Duncan, 7—l; Miss P. Hair beat Miss A. Rowe, 7—2. Final: Miss M. Purcell (Convent) beat Miss Hair, 7—2, Boys! doubles (under 15) —Semi-finals:. King and J. Horsley beat Dickie and Deerness. 9—6; Guin and Robson beat K. and R. Horsley, 7 —o. Final: Guin and Robson' beat King and Horsley. 7—3. Boys’ doubles (under 18) —Semi-finals: Bassett and Bassett-Smith beat Clinkard and Brandon, 7—5; Beadle and Milne beat May and Delves, 7—4. Final: Bassett and Bassett-Smith (Tech.) beat Beadle and Milne, 7—3. Girls' doubles (.under 18)—Semi-finals: Misses Rowe and Nicolls beat Misses Boynihan and Burke, 9—3; Misses Duncan and Furnie beat Misses Richardson and ReesJones. 7 —o. Final: Misses Duncan and Furnie (Girls’ College) beat Misses Rowe and Nicolls, 9—3. Girls’ doubles (under 14)—Semi-finals: Misses Dickie won from Misses J. Bartlett and M. Clarke by default; Misses B. Burgess and Poynter beat Misses Barton and Shirtcliff. Final: Misses Hair and Dickie (Girls’ College and Waverley) beat Misses Burgess and Poynter, 7—5. Manawatu Association Palmerston North, December 12. The ManawatU Lawn Tennis Association is endeavouring to bold a Manawatu district tennis tournament in January, 1931, in addition to the association’s annual fixture, The district tourney, if fixed, will be probably commenced on January 22. and finish on the following Saturday. The following team has been chosen to represent the Rest iu a match against the Palmerston North Club, to be played on the Linton Street court to-morrow: — Wheeler. Boddy, Proctor. Mabey, Jewell, Isaacs. Williamson, Brewer, Goodwin, Dr. Thompson, Radford, Tahiwi.
