WEDDINGS
CALVERT—DUNPHY. The wedding was solemnised at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Lower Hutt, on Saturday evening, of Miss Eileen Henrietta Dunn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Dunphy, ihid Russell, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Calvert, of HaWera. The bride, who was escorted by Mr. J. J. McMenamin, of South Africa, wore a frock of ivory satin, cut on Empire lines, ankle length, and with flared skirt, and a veil encircled with orange blossom at the back. She carried a sheath of arum lilies. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Ivy Dunphy, whose froek was of ean-de-nil georgette, ankle length, with coatee, and felt hat and shoes to tone. Her bouquejt was of lemon shading to flame coloured Iceland poppies. Miss Phyllis Duun was the other maid and wore a similar toilette. There were also two flower girls, Joyce McMenanim and Rosina Calvert, who wore frocks of pale lemon frilled net and carried gold decorated baskets, with a single rose in the centre, surrounded by rose petals. Mr. Stanley Watkins attended as best man and Mr. Thomas Bunele as groomsman. , , The Rev. Father Daly performed ;he ceremony and Miss Phyllis Connolly, was at the organ. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Oddfellows’Hall, when Mrs. Dunphy received, wearing a frock of black lace with flared peaked skirt and black Bangkok hat, and her posy was of dark red roses with satin ribbon to tone. The hall was prettily decorated by friends of. the bride with greenery, streamers, roses, rhododendrons and broom. Mrs. Calvert, mother of the bridegroom, was wearing navy georgette and Bangkok bat to tone, and her posy was in pink tones. The bride travelled in a black facecloth costume, black crinoline hat, and sable fox fur.
