DOMINION BAND CONTEST

Masterton to Compete Masterton, June 13. > “You will have to sleep with your instruments,” said Mr. Young, conductor of the Masterton Municipal Band, at the annual meeting last night when the question of the band’s attending the Dominion band contest in Wellington in February was being discussed. “Further,” he added, “unless every member is prepared to sacrifice everything else for band practice it is madness to go. I want the band to go, and am prepared to do everything in my power for them if they stick by me." On a show of hands a motion that the band attend the contest was carried unanimously.
