TAIHAPE NOTES
The two-day Paddy's Market, conducted under the auspices of the Taihape Cricket Association and the Taihape Bowling Club, concluded on Thursday evening. Considering the short notice in which the market was "worked up,” financial returns are considered good, the gross takings being approximately £l5O. The various stalls were in the charge of Mrs. TI. Bradley, Mrs. H. D. Bond, and Mrs. K. S. Treadwell, respectively, while numerous side shows did good trade. The art union winners were: Doyley No. 1, Mrs. F. Hamill; doyley No. 2, Mr. A. Peck; doyley No. 3, Mr. J. Aron; doyley No. 4, Mr. J. E. Hamill; hand-carved tray, Mr. S. E. G.mby; dressed doll, Mr. A. Cleaver; picture No. 1, Mrs. R. P. Marsh; picture No. 2, Mr. S. F. Reid; picture No. 3, Mr. R. P. Marsh.
