MAGISTRATE’S COURT
CASES AT MASTERTON « Masterton, December 20. By-law cases were dealt with by Mr. J. Miller, S.M., in the Masterton Magistrate’s Court this morning. For having sold liquor after hours, Harold G. King, licensee of the Gladstone Hotel, was fined £3 and 12/- costs. For exposing liquor for sale during prohibited hours and for having opened his premises for the sale of liquor during prohibited hours King was convicted and discharged. Carrie King, wife of the licensee, was fined £3 and costs 12/- for having supplied liquor to James Nunn and Tui Hemi after hours. On a charge of having aided and assisted persons to be illegally on licensed premises Mrs. King was discharged. r James Nunn and Tui Hemi were fined £1 and 10/- costs and £1 and 17/- costs respectively for being allegally on licensed premises. .For having been illegally on licensed premises, Robert Daniell Bowring, hotel proprietor, and Robert Beattie, of Lansdowne, were each fined 10/- and 10/costs. For a breach of the Auctioneers Act, Ernest Williams was fined 10/- and 10/costs. Having overtaken another car at aan intersection cost Harold Stanley Barrett and Robert D. Horne 30/- and 10/costs. For leaving his car mote than three feet from the curb G. V. Braddick was fined 10/- and 12/- costs. For having no rear light to his motortruck, Philip Athol Reviers was ordered to pay Court costs, 10/-. Sydney Holmes, for having driven a car at a dangerous speed, was fined 30/and 10/- costs, and William L. McAuliffe 30/- and 10/- costs for dangerous driving. As the result, of a recent collision, George Hatfield was fined £5 and hosts 10- for failing to give way to traffic on the right.
