RANGIMARIE CROQUET CLUB.
At a recent meeting of the Rangimarie Croquet Club nt the residence of Mrs. Wallace, Karori, very feeliiig reference was made to the late Mrs. H. Cook, pioneer croquet player and founder and president of the Rangimarie Club. Mrs. Smcd a ley was elected president and Mrs. Short vice-president. The club entertained the visitors from thq Hutt Club to luncheon and afternoon tea. The tables were daintily arranged with the club’s colours, Iceland poppies in shades of lemon and deep tangerine, with maidenhair fern. The visitors thanked the club for their invitation. , i
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace's lawn was in good order, and the green hedges and rose gardens made a charming setting. Mr. and Mrs. Sedgwick lent their lawn, which is opposite the Rangimarie Club, so that both clubs were able to play many games all day. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace and Mr. and Mrs. Sedgwick were most heartily thanked.
Authority was given by the Hospital Board yesterday for the lady superintendent to replace the red capes at present worn by the nursing staff with dark blue capes, the change to be made gradually as the present capes become worn out. The lady superintendent was authorised to expend £l5O for the purchase of Christmas presents for the patients.
