WOMEN’S ACTIVITIES.

Miss Rennie's talk of table service and her demonstration of a correct breakfast, lunch and dinner were much appreciated by the large number of ladies who gathered in the Technical College Cookery Room on Tuesday evening. Miss Rennie pointed out those omissions of a novice which may deprive a well-cooked meal of its grace. Her suggestions did not neglect the value of cheerful conversation, which, like central bowls of flowers, add charm to the taste. Floral decorations, Miss Rennie pointed out; should always be high or low so as not to obstruct the vision, lest a guest starve where food abounds. The hearty applause given Miss Rennie by her audience showed the appreciation felt of her efforts to prevent ladies from fee'ding on wing, like the swallows, as they too often have to do, for this can be prevented to a large degree by a wise assembly of all requisities for the meal.
