ADDRESS BY DIRECTOR OF AIR SERVICES. Aviation’s growing importance to commerce was the subject of an address which the Director of Air Services, Wing-Com-mander S. Grant-Dalton, D. 5.0., A.F.C, delivered at the Chamber of Commerce luncheon yesterday. He dealt with the increasing part that air transport, both for passengers and goods, is playing in commerce, and also . referred to the air pageant at the Miramar Air Port, which will give visible evidence in regard to the substantial progress made in aviation matters in the past few years. Mr. E. Salmon (president of the cliam- , her) presided over a large attendance. Apologies for non-attendance were received from the Hon. T. M. Wilford (Minister of Defence), the Mayor (Mr. 'G. A. Troup), and Mr. T. C. Hislop (president of the Wellington Aero Club). Among those present were Mr. Lambie (Deputy British Trade Commissioner), Messrs. Kimbel and Black (of , the American Trade Commissioner’s Office), Mr. W. I. Martin, of Sydney, and Mr. . M'Arthur (secretary to the Wellington Aero' Club).
