THE NUNNELEY CASKET
HANDED TO WELLINGTON TENNIS ASSOCIATION At the conclusion of last night’s quarterly meeting of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association Council, the chairman, Mr. J. C. Peacock, took tlie opportunity of presenting to Mr. G. N. Goldie (vice-president of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association) the trophy given by Dliss K. DI. Nunneley for competition by ladies on the lines of the Wilding Shield matches. In making the presentation, Dlr. Peacock said that lie was sure that it would not be long before there would be some covetous challengers in the field for a trophy which would do a great deal to improve women’s tennis in New Zealand. He paid tribute to Dliss Nuiineley’s wonderful tennis career and to the generosity that prompted her to make this gift. Dlr. Goldie replied suitably, and also spoke of Dliss Nunneley’s prowess at tennis.
