HUTT CLUB ATHLETICS

Good entries have been received for the Hutt Club’s annual sports to be held on the Recreation Ground, Lower Hutt, ’to-morrow at 2.15 p.m. x). lengthy and varied programme has been drawn up, and as the track is in excellent condition some good performances should be registered. In addition to a full programme of handicap running, cycling and field events the following three Hutt Valley championships are down for decision : 100 yards bovs’ under 14, 100 yards ladies’, and half-mile cycle. The 100 yards, ladies’ championship is made more interesting by the last-minute entry of Miss B. Boyes. ' Miss Kencli, runner-up in the New Zealand championship, will need to be at her best to beat this rapidlyimproving runner. The presence of Miss Boyes will also make the ladies’ relay race more interesting. The winning club hold the valuable Eric Riddifonl Cup for one year, while each member of the team retains a miniature. In the open events a number of competitoi-s who competed at the New Zealand championships will be seen in action. Entries have been received from Eastwood, Veitch. Lander. Ramson. Walker, Crooks. Ogg. Thompson. Campbell, Bayne. Carswell, Flett. Pearce. Sehrodski (Nnpier). while Brown. Munro nnd others will be contesting the field events. There are also races for boys and girls, including a boys’ walk and boys’ tire race.
