The consumption of water in Hamilton during the past 10 days has reached the highest point since the dry spell last February (states the Auckland ‘Herald.’’) The present limited facilities have resulted in great difficulty in maintaining the supply and parts of the town are suffering considerable disability. The Borough Council has asked consumers to restrict the use of water to essential purposes only. The daily consumption has reached the high average of over 1,300,000 gallons. Only, about 2in. of rain have fallen in Hamilton this year. The conn try is badly in need of ram.
