AERIAL AGE A STEP NEARER
RUN-ABOUT AEROPLANE FOR £3OO Australian Press Association. (Rec. December 30, 5.5 p.m.) London, December 29.
The aerial age is a big step nearer with the British attempt to provide a run-about single seater aeroplane, to be sold for £3OO. These are at present being cons'l ucted at Brooklands aerodrome. They are intended for short trips. The wing span is 25 feet. The aeroplane carries an ABC Scorpion engine. It is an answer to the German firms’ two-seater run-about for £5OO. GREAT AEROPLANE SHED AT CROYDON (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, December 28. What ie believed to be the largest aeroplane shed in the world will be available at Croydon on January 1 for the bousing of air liners employed on, cross-Channel routes. It will accommodate fifty liners. The existing sheds are capable of housing thirty-five liners. Although built as recently as January last, so rapid has been the growth' of traffic that this accommodation has already proved inadequate.
