BIG DOCK AT CALCUTTA

OPENED BY VICEROY (United Service.) (Rec. December 30, 5.5 p.m.) Delhi, December 29. The Viceroy opened the new King George dock at Calcutta, providing at present six additional berths and ultimately thirty additional berths. The cost of the scheme hitherto has been eight and a-half crores of rupees. The water area of the dock is 24 per cent, greater than the Gladstone dock, Liverpool.
