EXPERT COMMENCES DUTIES Dominion Special Service. Christchurch, November 21. Accompanied by Mr. F. R. Callghan, of the Department of Industrial and Scientific Research, Mr. H. E. West, the newly appointed chemist to the Wheat Research Committee, which has its headquarters in Christchurch, arrived in the city this morning. Mr. West' is a Canadian, coming from the Agricultural College of the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg. There he was an expert in wheat research. He will take up his duties immediately and will act under the direction of the committee.
