TAXATION OF ROAD VEHICLES

RECEIPTS IN BRITAIN (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, October 31. A return has been issued by the Ministry of Transport giving particulars of the gross receipts from the taxation of road vehicles for the nine months ending August 31 last, and of the number of new motor vehicles registered during the past quarter. The gross amount received in payment for licenses issued during the nine months exceeded £23,000,000. Over 76,000 motor vehicles were registered for the first time during June, July and August.
