tn the course of a discussion on the sale of birds’ heads and eggs at a Farmers’ Union at Timaru recently, a member remarked: ”1 remember the time, not very long ago, when the roadmen of a certain county council knocked off work and went bird-nesting, while the council was purchasing birds’ eggs, heads, and nests. Some women also were making money by making nests and selling them” (says the “Herold”).
