Following the annual meeting of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society last night, the incoming council of the society will act on the following resolution in regard to . the netting ot salmon in the Walmakariri: — “That the Marine Department be written to recommending that, the netting of salmon on the Waimakariri be stopped each Saturday till sunrise on the following Monday morning.” “It appears that the netting of salmon has had very serious effects on angling, said Mr. C. H. Lawrence, president or the society.
