Mr. L. G. Miller, of Whangarei, has been spending a short holiday at Konini.

Mr. C. N. Clausen, of Palmerston North, is at present an inmate of a private hospital as the result of a fractured thigh sustained through slipping on the damp roadway in Linton Street. -Mr. W. Devine, of Tiinaru, is at present in Napier. Sir Robert Stout, Wellington, is on a short visit to Palmerston North, and is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Stout. Senior-Sergeant O’Grady, accompanied by his daughter, Miss M. O'Grady, leaves Palmerston North today en route to Melbourne. Dr. C. W. Peach was appointed consulting optician to the maternity home at yesterday’s meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Board. Mr. K. Collins, of Sydney, youngest son of Mrs. J. G. Collins (Palmerston North) has succeeded in passing his first-class wireless examination. This entitles Mr. Collins to a position as wireless operator, but lie intends carrying on his studies in Sydney and sitting for a diploma in wireless. BEAUTIFUL FURS. The display of beautiful furs exhibited by 11. H. Blandford, Limited, expert furriers, Clarendon Buildings, ’Palmerston North, continues to draw large numbers of interested ladies. There is an extensive selection on view, and the well-known Blandford high quality is apparent to visitors. The Arm is enabled to effect a very largo saving on furs by importing the raw material. —Advt.
