SECURITY PROBLEM
BRITISH • SUGGESTIONS Rugby, January 10. The .statement published to-day that the British. Government has notified the League Secretariat of its intention shortly to submit a complete scheme on security, as seen from the British viewpoint, is not correct, and is apparently an exaggerated description of the procedure agreed upon by members of the Security Committee at its public meeting last December. The British Government merely proposes in common, it is understood, with other Governments, to carry out the suggestion then made by Dr. Benes, chairman of the committee, to send to the League, before next meeting begins, their views on the programme of work to be proposed ito the committee. One or two memoranda embodying British views on the committee’s programme are now under preparation, but they make no pretence to be a complete scheme as reported.—British Official Wireless.
