VOTING ON THE NEW LOAN

MAY BE DECEMBER THREE ISSUES ONLY FOR RATEPAYERS When the remodelled loan proposals are submitted to the ratepayers it is probable that there will be three issues only, stated the Mayor (Mr. G. A. Troup) yesterday. The first of these issues will be reading work, which will cover tar-sealing and bituminous paving; rhe second, footpaths; and the third, public conveniences. It is hoped that the poll will be taken in December, and that there will be greater interest shown in the result than was the case when the last loan was rejected by a small majority on a total vote of about 5000. For the past few days the city engineer’s department has been steadily at work preparing plans and schedules for submission to the Local Government Loans Board.
