HUTT VALLEY GUN CLUB

JOHN JAMESON CUT. Another shoot was held by the Hutt Valley Gun Club on Saturday, the conditions being ideal. There was a large attendance, including some visiting snortsmen from the Masterton Gun Club. The principal match was a handicap one of 21 birds for tho John Jameson Cup presented to the club by Mr. D. Jameson. The cup is for annual competition, and thisjwas the first occasion it had been competed for. The winner holds the cup for one year, and. a miniature cup permanently. The runner-up also receives a cup. The cup was won by Mir. J. Scholes. Messrs. W. Donovan, J. Pearson and D. Jameson being equal for second. In the shoot-off W. Donovan proved the winner and takes the cup for the run-ner-up. The best scores for the match were as follow: J. Scholes (16yds.), 19 breaks; W. Donovan (2fiyds.), 18; J. Pearson (16yds.), 18; D. Jameson (I4yds.), 18; T. Skippage (20yds.), 17: A. Dennison (20yds.), 17; J. Cave (18yds.), 17; J. Brascll (16yds.), 17; — Laurenson (16 yds.), 17; J. Hagerty (11yds.), 17; G. Morrison (Byds.), 17; — Fraser (17yds.), 16; P. Jameson (11yds.). 16; S. Scott (lllyds.), 16; G. Wallace (Byds.). 16. The shooting terminated with a. first miss out shoot, E. Witcombe winning on the ninth bird.
