Mr. W. E. McCarthy, of Wanganui, was a recent visitor to Auckland. Mr. T. Tracy, of Wellington, is at present visiting Napier. Mr. J. C. Baird, Maraekakaho Road, Hastings, has been appointed judge of the draught section of the horse events at the Manawatu A. and P. Show. Mr. W- Simpson, of Dannevirke, was a visitor to Palmerston North over the week-end. Mrs. C. H. Mills, of Auckland, is a visitor to Palmerston North. Mr. F. H. Jenkinson, at one > time editor of the Melbourne “Argus,” is at present in Feilding, where he is staving with Mrs. J. E- Jenkinson. Mr. R. B. Miller, representing the Institute for the Blind, Auckland, is on his annual visit to Wanganui.Miss Murray, who has been on the staff of the Rangataua School for about four years, left on Friday evening for Masterton to join the staff of the- Whatman School in that town. Before leaving Miss Murray was the recipient of a present from the other teachers, and several presents from the pupils of the school. In the evening a large number of children and others assembled to farewell Miss Murray and to wish her prosperity mid pleasure, in the Wairarapa Miss Murray, who is a good musician, was for some time organist at the local Presbyterian Church, and occasionally acted in that capacity at the Methodist Church. While in Rangataua Miss Murray organised several concerts, given tnaitilv by school children, and will be much missed in the district
