NEW ZEALAND TEAM TO VISIT AUSTRALIA

TEST .MATCHES TO BE PLAYED ENGLISH TOUR NEXT YEAR Dominion S peci al Service. Christchurch, September 13. A New Zealand representative bowling team of sixteen players, comprising four rinks, will visit Australia at Christmas, and will play three Test matches in that country. This decision was arrived at by the New Zealand Bowling Association at its annual meeting at Christchurch today. The Victorian Bowling Association wrote suggesting that three Test matches be played between New Zealand and Australian teams during the Melbourne carnival at Christmas. It was stated also Hint regular Test matches should be arranged between the New Zealand and Australian teams. The following motion, moved by Mr. W. .1. Hardley (Auckland), was carried unanimously: “That this Council of the Dominion of New Zealand Bowling Association approves of the proposal to institute regular Test matches between New Zealand and Australia.” It was decided to send a New Zealand team to Melbourne, and selectors were appointed as follow—North Island: Messrs. A. K. Smart (New Plymouth), J. Kershaw (Wellington), J. M. Thomson (Auckland); South Island: -Messrs. J. Moyes (Tiniaru), J. M. Pastier (Dunedin), and A. J. Benzie (Christchurch). VISIT TO BRITAIN NEXT YEAR PARTY TO LEAVE IN APRIL. Dominion Special Service. Christchurch, September 13. Although an ofllcial invitation has not been received yet from the bowling authorities in England, the Council of the New Zealand Bowling Association decided at- its annual meeting to-day to send a party to tour Great Britain in 1928. The official invitation is expected to come to hand at an early date, however, and Mr. W. J. Hardley (Auckland) was appointed to organise the party, which Is expected to leave Auckland early in April next. The party will travel via Canada, where a number of matches will be played. The annual meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Bowling Association was held to-day, when Mr. A.- J. Benzie, of Christchurch, was elected president. The retiring president, Mr. J. W. Hardley, said that the association was in an excellent position. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £73 on (tie year's working, making a total credit of £193.

It was decided to hold the next annual tournament • at Christchurch, beginning on January 10, 1928.
