MASTERTON SHOW
PROPOSED NIGHT SESSIONS
Dominion Special Service. Masterton, September 12.
After having bad under consideration for some time past the question, of extending its two-day show fixture in February by keeping the grounds open to the public in the evenings, the Masterton Agricultural and Pastoral Association will further consider the matter at its next meeting.
The secretary of the association (Mr. R. H. William’s) stated to a Dominion representative to-day that the association had not hitherto held a night show, but it was thought that by so doing the public could be accorded a further opportunity of attending the fixture, while the association would be afforded the means of increasing its revenue from the event. At the present time the Solwav grounds were not equipped with the lighting facilities necessary,, as such had riot been required, and this was a matter that would liaye to be considered in relation to the proposal. Also, some entertainment further to the side-shows was a necessary adjunct, but there seemed no reason why these could not. be conducted with profit to the association. The whole subject would no doubt be aired at the next meeting of the general committee.
