CHRISTMAS AT WANGANUI
Wanganui, December 26. Unfavourable weather prevailed for the Christmas Eve of 1926. However, this did not prevent an exceptionally large crowd from parading the main thoroughfares of the city. It was a quiet, orderly throng, a feature being the number of children about. The various shops had a busy time. In fact, staffs were working at high pre-sure all day long. Christmas Day, as usual, was spent quietly by most people, the fact that the trams and buses were not running preventing, to a great extent, holiday traffic, and special services were held at the various churches.
