FIRE IN SYDNEY
BIG BUILDINGS GUTTED Rec. October 11, 7.35 p.m.) Sydney, October 11. Fire gutted the large five-story premises of the Australian General Electrical Company in Mountain Street. Thence the flames swept througn buildings occupied by the General Power Farming Company and the skin and hides stores of J. Moxam and Company. The outbreak was one of the fiercest seen in Sydney for a long time. A big force of firemen, by the greatest efforts, prevented the fire from spreading to a number of big buildings in the vicinity. The premises destroyed carried very heavv stocks, and the damage consequently is serious.
