PUSHING ON

WITH THE ORONGORONGO MAINGood work is now being done with the laying of the new 21-inch mam that is to bring the Onongorongo water into town, and on to the Karori dam. Two big gangs made a start _on the Hutt Road last week, one at the Petone end and the other.at Thorndon, and already about half a mile of pipes have been laid. The Wainui Hill has also been trenched, and the pines leading from the top of the ridge down to i\ aiwetn will be laid shortly.
