BOWLS
CENTRE TOURNAMENT TO-DAY. The annual tournament of the Wellington Bowling Centre will commence at 9 a.m. to-day on the. Wellington (lower), Thorndon, Hataitai, Newtown, and Victoria Club’s greens. Three games of 21 heads each will be played to-day, and on Monday, Tuesday ,and Wednesday post-section play will be commenced. The final game will probably be played on Saturday afternoon next. HILL PINS. The “Hill Pins” contest between Victoria and Lyall Bay took place last Wednesday, and resulted in the holders retaining "the pins. The scores were:— Victoria: J. McGill. Paul, Pole, Tucker (s.), 25. Lyall Bay: Drew. Purchas, Newcombe, Raven (s.), 16. The next match is wi,th Pctono Central, but on account of the Victoria green being required by the centre for the tournament, the match will not be played till the following week.
