JUNIOR REP MATCH Palmerston North, December 25. The Hastings-Palmerston North junior representatives’ cricket fixture was commenced to-day on the sports ground. Hastings batted first, Carr and Bicklcy opening well. Knuekev look some enterprising chances, and went over the century, which he made in I hour 30 minutes. Spence knocked the bowling around, and scored even faster than Ktiuckcy. Watkins batted very confidently, and made some very pleasing strokes, but like a number of others he found Holliers’s bowling too much for him. For Palmerston, McDonald made the highest score of 6*2, and Webster 17, Piercy iJ4 not out, and Hollier 18 not out will continue their batting to-morrow.
