CAR BLOWN OVER EMBANKMENT
DEPOSITED ON NEIGHBOUR’S LAWN Rawhiti Terrace, Kelburn, .was yesterday afternoon, at about y.lO, the scene' of an unusual occurrence when a 5-seater motor-car, owned by Mr. G. P. H. Davidson, of 39 Rawhiti Terrace, fell a distance of 25ft. from the road on to the lawn of Mr. T. T. Hugo, a neighbour. Fortunately there was no one in the car at the time. Mr. Davidson had stopped the car on the far side of the road less than a quarter of an hour before. The handbrake unfortunately was unequal to the task of holding it against the strong southerly wind. Mr. Davidson surmises that " the car was blown across the road to the edge of the embankment, down which it fell, rolling over in the process. The car was considerably damaged, but the full extent will not be known until a full examination has been made.
