DECISION REVERSED
4 A MASTERTON CASE. Last September an action was brought in the Supremo Court by Archibald Montgomery, of Masterton, to obtain from the trustees of the will of tho late John Charles McKillop £2195 10s. as payment for services rendered as manager of two farms owned by deceased whilst he was away at the war. It was contended by plaintiff that deceased had promised to give him a farm to the value of about £3OOO or a sum of money. The jury awarded plaintiff £290 losi The Full Court .yesterday reversed that decision and gave a verdict for de. fondants with costs according to scale. Tho Court held that” there was no contract between deceased and plaintiff for the former to pijy any money for work done or to lie'done. Tho evidence by plaintiff himself as to the amount of work done by him was regarded by tho Court as "exaggerated and untrustworthy.”
