The following additional provisions were agreed to: —In the case of an hotel transfer the employer to pay a proportionate share of holiday money if a worker is more than three and less than six months in his employ; forty-eight hours’ notice of termination of employment to be given on cither side; the’ employer to pay or the worker to lose two days’ pay if no notice is given; where board is not provided, £1 a week extra to be paid; where lodging is not provided, 10s. a wdek extra Jo be paid; workers paid more than the award rate not to be reduced; special uniforms to be provided and laundered by the ememployer, or 3s. per week to be paid for laundering if special accommodation is not provided; tlvo local secretary to be permitted tb interview employees at their place of employment on any one day in each week at a time to be arranged. Time-and-a-half rates for Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Labour Day, and the Sovereign’s Birthday; annual holiday of one week to be given. After several hours’ discussion and separate conferences on both sides, the following wages were agreed to:— Kitchen. —Three classifications as follow: —Eight hands and over: Chef £6, 2nd hand £4 55., 3rd £3 55., 4th £2 155., baker £4 55., all others .-£2 ss. Seven hands: Chef .£5 10s., 2nd £4, 3rd £2 155., 4th. £2 10s., others £2 ss. Six hands: Chef, £5 55., 2nd .£3 155., 3rd £2 10s., others £2 ss. Five hands: Chef £5 25., 2nd £3 125., 3rd £2 9s. 6d., others £2 ss. Four hands: Chef £4 125., 2nd £3 25., 3rd £2 75., others £2 ss. Three hands: Chef £3 19s. 6d., 2nd £2 125., 3rd £2 ss. Two hands: Chef £3 25., 2nd £2 7s. One hand: £2 9s. 6d.

Dining-room.—Head waiter (where two or more, £3 25.; head waitress (three or more), £1 16 s.; other wtiiters, £2 175.; other waitresses, £1 Ils.; house-maid-waitress £1 Ils., pantryman £2 55., pantrymaids £1 115.,' barmen £3 25., barmaids £3 Is., cellarmen £3 25., night porters £2 75., day porters £2 55., general hand (male) £2 10s., female £2 Is., laundresses and linenmaids £1 13s. 6d.

The council adjourned until 11 this morning to conclude the case. A complete agreement is expected.
