WAIRARAPA MOTOR CLUB'S SPORTS

COLEMAN HAS SUCCESSFUL DAY BY telegraph—Special Correspondent. Masterton, January 27. Percy Coleman, of Palmerston North, was the most successful competitor at the Wairarapa Motor Club’s first annual race meeting on Saturday, securing three firsts, and two seconds in five starts. In conjunction with the stake of the Wairarapa Automobile Association championship was the Elgar Cup, which was won by Len Mengham in 1921. No meeting has been held in the Wairarapa since then, and the fact that Mangham has iefused to give up the cup without having a chance to defend it was the cause for litigation in which the holder was successful. Mangham was present but did not compete, and was the first to congratulate Coleman on his success. '
