ALLEGED ASSAULT
/ * EASTBOURNE RESIDENT IN TROUBLE A man named Herbert Fake came before Mr. C. R. Orr-Walker, 8,M V in the Magistrate’s Court on Saturday on charges of breaking and entering premises at Eastbourne, and with assaulting Alexander Hancock, the tenant. Acting Sub-Inspector Lander said that Hancock’s wife had received a severe fright, and it was fortunate that her husband had arrived home in time. A remand was desired until Wednesday next. Mr. Von Haast, who appeared for Fake, said his client was a well-known contractor and had business interests at the bay. Hitherto he had always borne an excellent character, and until the facts came out at the trial, he wished to press for bail. This was fixed by the Magistrate in the sum of £5O with one similar surety.
