STRUCK BY DUMMY TORPEDO
FRENCH COMMANDER APOLOGISES TO AMERICAN. Paris, January 20. A French submarine while exercising at the entrance of Cherbourg Harbour fired a dummy torpedo and struck an approaching American battleship, the Colorado. The commander boarded, the warship and apologised. —Sydney “Sun” Cables. _________
