The “Daily Chronicle’s” Paris correspondent says a murder recalling the Deeming case has been discovered at Rheims, the dismembered body of a chauffeur named Andre Chausinaud having been found buried three feet deep in cement in a stable.. A youth named Lamotte, son of a rich draper of Rheims, who had been a lover oi the chauffeur’s wife and stepdaughter, confessed. Lamotte and Madame Chausinaud are in custody. Andre Chausinaud was angry because his wife was connected with a house of doubtful repute. . There were scenes of angry recrimination. Olympe, a step-daughter, aged fifteen, was also intimate with Lamotte. Lamotte, who is a boxer, cyclist-, and football player, first paid court to Olympe, and then became favourite of the Wl^e - " ly Chausinaud disappeared on October 14. His wife said he had gone on business in the south of France. Ino man’s employer, however, suspected, and Olympe was questioned. She told a friend that Lamotte killed her father in a quarrel, and that the body was buried at Saint Brice. a house owned by her mother. Inis house was for sale, so the police, as possible purchasers, got the keys ana found traces of a grave in the garden and new cement in the stable. Olympe on Saturday morning was brought from her typing to Saint Brice and questioned, when she denied knowledge of the affair. _ . A police officer said: That is a lie. You know Roger Lamotte, your lover, killed him.” • The girl then broke down, and confessed that Lamotte told her he had killed her father and buried him in the garden. A month later the mother and daughter and the lover went to an untenanted house. Lamotte dug a hole in the stable and then exhumed the body. The wife helped to cut off the clothes with scissors 'I he body was then thrown into tho hole, Lamotte and the wife stamping down the earth. Olympe implored the commissary not to arrest Lamotte,. out tho latter was arrested, and he confessed to killing the chauffeur with a resolzer in a quarrel about the wife. The wife admits that she hired two Italians to cover the floor of tho stable-: with cement. When the remains were disinterred in the presence of the guilty pair, the woman screamed and covered her face. Lamotte cynically remarked: “He was a rascal.
