NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION
4 PROGRAMME FOR MARCH. The annual championship meeting of the National Rifle Association will be held at Trentham, opening on March 18, just after the Dominion Army Rifle Association meeting has concluded. The programme has been issued, and differs somewhat from that of last year. _ The meeting opens with a rapid-firing match, 300 yards, at a 4ft. target, ten rounds, two sighting shots, prone position. The other matches are:—A series (compulsory).—Snapshooting, 300 yards, medium target, ten rounds; tile competition, 200 yards, five rounds; moving target. 200 yards, six rounds; service championship; champion service teams’ match. B series, rifle championship.— Opening match, 300 yards, 500 yards, 600 yards, seven shots at each distance; Marlborough match, 300 yards and 500 yards, ten shots at each distance; Auckland match, 300 yards and 600 yards, ten shots at each distance; Wellington match, 500 yards and 600 yards, ten shots at each distance; Canterbury match, 600 yards, ten shots; Hawke’s Bay match, 900 yards, ten shots; Taranaki match, 800 yards, ten shots; King’s Prize, 900 yards, ten shots. Special aggregate matches : Trentham aggregate, Bisley aggregate, grand aggregate. Dominion match, fifteen shots at 600 yards and ten shots at 1000 yards; Imperial aggregate in Marlborough, Canterbury, Otago, Taranaki, and Dominion matches. Champion team match, seven shots each at 300 _ yards, 500 ya’ds 600 yards. Colonial Ammunition Co.’s Cup, aggregates in Otago, Hawke’s Bay, and Taranaki matches, Tong range shooting. Rifle Club champion team match, all scores in belt matches, except final, to count. North and South Island match. 20 men aside, 300 yards, 500 yards, 600 yards, seven shots at each distance. Colonel R. Hughes, V.D., will be the executive officer in charge of the meeting, and President AV. G. Fellingham the secretary. The Executive Committee comprises:—President H. T. Marshall, M.C., Colonel R. J. Collins, C.M.G., Colonel R. Hughes, Lieut.-Golonel T. B. Cresswell, Majors P. B. Henderson and V. Dunne, Presidents IV. N._ Masefield, G. G. Ashlev, F. J. Silvins, and V. Donald. Entries will be received up to Tuesday, March 4. Free railway warrants will be issued te Trentham and the catering and arrangements are the same as last year.
