A RECORD YEAR • V The year 1923 was a record one in city and suburban building, the value of the dwellings and business premises erected being £1,188,465, ‘more than £200.000 ahead of 1922. While the buildings erected included many, large commercial establishinents, Wellington College additions (£42,000), and Wellington Hospital (£20,000), and City Corporation works of an extensive nature, it is satisfactory to note that there were erected 592 homes of varying dimensions and pretensions, from £9OO to £4OOO.
