Lyall Bay School has recently obtained the equipment for a children’s playground—ladders (vertical and horizontal), parallel bars, Roman rings, trapeze bars, chute and rock-a-bye. From early mornigg till dark any day all are kept going i>y the juvenile population of the bay, the youngsters clustering round the appliances like a swarm of bees. With cricket, tennis, and a sand pond, there is ample opportunity for physical development allied with keen enjoyment, and probably other schools will have like equipment provided when _ the parents, realising the benefit obtained, provide the necessary money.
