BOY BURGLARS
ORDERED TO BE SOUNDLY WHIPPED by Telegraph— press association. Christchurch, April 14. Following on an epidemic 'of boy burglaries in the city, a boy of 15, convicted of thefts of a watch and a razor from the Opera House, the property of Dulcie Storey, was ordered to receive a sound thrashing and be returned to the industrial school. Of four boys convicted of various burglaries and motor-car. thefts, the eldest, aged 16, was ordered a sound thrashing- and was remanded for sentence ; two others were ordered to make restitution, and the fourth, aged 13, was ordered a sound thrashing. Addressing the mother of two of the boys, tho Magistrate said steps would be taken to prevent her children becoming criminals-
