At a meeting of the Waipiata Sanatorium , Committee, Dr. McKibbin, Health Officer, stated that the institution now was the property of tho associated boards, whoso delegates should undertake its direction. Tho legal status of the committee would shortly be defined. Mr. Thomas Pryde, secretary of the Southland Board, was appointed secretary to the committee of management, subject to the approval of the Southland Board, at a salary of £l5O per annum. The possibility of generating 100 h.p. for lighting, heating, and cooking was mentioned, which would mean a u great saving in coal, which costs £4 "per ton landed at the sanatorium. It was decided to obtain particulars of cost. The appointment of Dr. Kidd as medical officer and Misr Wilson as matron were ratified.
