A VIGOROUS “PARK”

CAR BURSTS THROUGH A FENCE. When parking a car in Mercer Street the idea is to throw in the reverse and back slowly into the kerb. One Wellington driver who desired to station his car in the Mercer Street parking place, managed the reverse all right, then gave the engine an extra supply or benzine, with the result that befoie anything could be done, the car had over-run the footpath and knocked down the fence of the AVellington Technical College playground as though it were made of cardboard. The incident is a gentle hint to- the pedestrian to keep clear of a motorcar that is being backed into a parking place.
