London, May 12. Mr. Austen. Chamberlain, addressing a mass meeting of women,, said that division into political parties on tho lines of class interest would bo disastrous, but a division upon lines of sex would bo even more disastrous. As a result of tho post-war extension, of the suffrage, the electors of Britain now comprised twenty million mon and women. The.large number thus newly affranchised 'must be assimilated before the franchise could be further extended. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
