June 27, 5.5 p.m.) London, Juno 26. In the fourth round of the men's singles, Williams (America) beat Brugnou (France). In the second round of tho ladies' singles, Miss Shepherd beat Miss Lance. In tho second round of the men's doubles Kingscote and Parko beat Roper Barrett and Ritchie; Tilden and Johnston beat Gobert and Laurentz, 6—2, 6-0, 4-6, 9-7.
In the 6econd .round of the mixed doubles Patterson and Mdlle. Lenglen beat Garland and Mrs. Mallory, 6-0, W; Lycett and Mis.? Ryan beat Godfree and Miss Dransfield.-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. TILDEN DEFEATS KINGSCOTE. (Reo. June 27, 11.30 p.m.) London, Juno 26. In the men's singles Tilden (America) beat Kingscote (England), 6-3, 5—7, Cr4 5-7. 6-3.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. (Rec. June 27, 11.50 p.m.) London, Juno 26. The keenest interest was shown in the Tilden-Kingscoto encounter at Wimbledon. It. is generally considered that tho winner will prove the ultimate challenger of Pntterson. The match lasted two hours. Tho light was bad, and some rain fevl. ■ Kingscote was in brilliant form, often outplaying Tilden, whose superior service secured him victory. In the fourth round of the men's singles Shimidzu (JaDan) beat Zerlendi (Greece), 6-3, li-4, 6-3; Mavrogordato beat Norton, 6—l, 7-5, 8-6. In the men's doubles Doust and Prebblo beat Frankliii and Baird. In tho mixed doubles Shimidzu and Mrs. Chambers beat Fisher and Mrs. Tuckey.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable '
