(Roc Juno 18, 7.45 p.m.) London, June 17. At the Ascot Royal meeting ..to-day the Gold Cup. of 3000 soys., two miles and a half, resulted as follows:—
Sir William Nelson's Tangiers. by O.vl-gad-Orange Girl, 4yrs (Hulmc) 1 JuveigneUr 2 Koyaoo - 3 Tho race was most excitintr. From tho entrance to tho straight Buchan (ridden by Prank Bullock) and Tangiers fought a, strenuous battlo. Buchan swerved, and Tangiers was partly pulled un to come on tho outßide. Buchan iron neck. An objection on account of crossing upheld, and Iho rate awarded to Tangiers. This caused tho greatest senr.ition since 1967, when Eider, after dend-heatlng with Tho White Knisrlit. was disqualified for humping. Tn the same year the Gold Cup was stolen—Aiio.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
