REFEREE FOR INTER-ISLAND MATCH. The Referee Appointment Board has soleetod Mr. A. O. Kitto to referee in the match, North v. South Island, to bo played in Wellington on June • 26.
TO-DAY'S ATTRACTIONS. The finals of the first round of the senior championship will be played this afternoon. The match between Athletic and Poneke, both of which are in the lead for .the championship is excitintr more than usual interest, and is expected to nrovido a high-grado exhibition of back nlay. Tho Rugby IJnion expects a large crowd to be present, and for tho assistance of natrons a box plan office has been onened at No. 10 Woodward Street (Ru»by Union office), where seats may be reserved. The early gamo will bo between fiftlwslasß teams bclonclntr to the same clubs. At Petouo,'Varsity, who defeated Athletic, will nlay the local team.
